Oops. Yes, I took your previous statement regarding not knowing anything
about Windows Active Directory as an indication that AD was relevant.

Well, it was a sample set of DCL commands to validate the parameters
that would eventually go into the INI file on the client side.
I don't know much about the OpenVMS Enterprise Directory product, except
that it appears to be both quite expensive [1] and unmaintained (no
updates in 12 years that I can find).
