I was talking about applications, not the OS.

You are correct, VMS has been neglected, it needs attention, and some things 
don't really work so well anymore, the password hash, TCP/IP, SSL, and such.

But my applications do not have such problems.  Perhaps because they have not 
been neglected?  Development is ongoing.  New requirements are met.
