Hi Paul,

I presume you meant that you're defining the EDTINI logical in your LOGIN.COM, which is pointing to your EDTINI.EDT file.
When you enter a command like:
$ EDIT NESTTEST.COB
with no qualifiers then you're starting the EVE (TPU) editor, not the classic EDT variation, i.e. it defaults to $ EDIT/TPU, not $ EDIT/EDT

SET RIGHT MARGIN 72 is a valid EVE command, invalid for EDT.
