Trouble is, it’s not flexible enough. Their mobile strategy has been a complete disaster. What happened to Windows HPC Server, their offering for supercomputers? Killed by Linux. Windows Home Server? Killed by cheap NAS boxes running Linux and BSD. Heard about their “Windows 10 IoT Edition” for the Raspberry π 3? A crippled joke of an OS.

The Windows NT underpinnings were supposed to make it a cross-platform OS. But that goal has been a complete failure.
