Glad you got it sorted out.  

I have a lot zip files of those old standalone versions of cURL for VAX, AXP and IA64, since I used to maintain a limited version of it way back when.  The .exe_nossl was created for systems that did not have OpenSSL or DEC/CPQ/HP SSL installed.  It was handy if all you wanted to do was basic FTP or HTTP functions.

Seems all the links on the main cURL download page https://curl.haxx.se/download.html#VMS are somewhat invalid.  They do route you to the SourgeForge files area, but do not find the specific version in the link.  You can still find prior versions there.
