I don't see it as a bad advert.
Computer companies specializes various areas:
- build PC's
- build low end server
- build high end servers
- build storage
- develop OS
- develop platform software (databases, app servers etc.)
- develop development tools (compilers, IDE's etc.)
- running cloud
- running on premise systems or dedicated systems
etc.
HP sold their expertise in the "running on premise systems or
dedicated systems" to CSC I believe.
So they are not in that market now.
And why keep that expertise inhouse if CSC can do it cheaper
due to economies of scale?
Well - I could think of a few reasons. But if focus is on the
bottom line next quarter/year and CSC is cheaper then ...
