When I heard this announcement on the radio yesterday, the news-caster quoted HP in saying "these layoffs are due to a drop in sales related to the PC and Desktop Printer business; most people are moving to tablets and storing their data on the cloud"

Does this mean that HP didn't see this coming?

Does this mean that all the time and money spent separating HP and HPE last year was wasted?
