I just came into some surplus rx2660 servers and was looking for a flavor of Linux which would allow me to play with the latest version of MariaDB-10, and that turned out to be something called Gentoo. While I was looking at the various supported technologies I discovered that Gentoo still supports Alpha. On top of this, apparently Gentoo has been chosen to run in the Tesla automobile.

Centos (a free Redhat clone) has a IA64-version, too.
I've installed this version successfully on a rx2660. There is a bug in
the installation script
that produces a unbootable OS, but it is very easy to solve this problem
by copying some
files into the efi partition.
