Most of the world's malware depends on a particulary leaky OS that
only runs on x86. Once upon a time, it ran on a few other
processsors where the OS was equally full of holes.
There is a trick or two that help an OS provide a secure envronment,
and x86 may not have them all, but no architecure can overcome bad
software implementation.
