First, I do not think I saw "default" mentioned in your post that
Arne replied to, and second, what is "default" anyway? If you add
some package to a Linux box using the built-in tools, are they
still part of the "default config"?
And what is the problem with having a VMS box taking some "help"
from a proper mail server? And there are other SMTP tools available
that are easy to use and easy to integrate in an application that
might have a need to send out mails with some attached content.
Just as Arne mentioned, of course.
