Hoff,
     thanks.  I may still have an IDE-SATA adapter in storage from shortly after SATA started taking over so maybe I can test it.  We have a 120GB SATA SSD thats just sitting in a box whose specs I can check.

     Hopefully the deal comes through on the Alpha or Alphas.
