For a very long time.
But then I believe that VMS revenue has gone down and maintenance cost
in general has gone up over these years.

That seems like a fair assumption.

True.
My point is just that Oracle DB has become huge over the years with all
kinds of stuff.
An Oracle DB install today fill up 10 GB on disk.
RDB requires only 300 MB.
