Normally, a USB stick would turn up as a drive letter (D:, E:, etc.).

However Windows also knows Mount Points, so if this USB stick was ever
added to this PC as a Mount Point, it will show up as a directory under
C: . By the way, a combination is also possible.

If the file system or the partition table on the stick is not
recognized, you will see nothing.

What to do?

Plug the stick in the PC.
In Search Windows (lower left corner) type administrative tools.
A window will open, click on Computer Management.
A new window opens, in the left pane look for Storage, and click on Disk
Management.
Now you will see all disks, with their partitions, drive letters, and
mount points.
Look for your USB stick, it will show up if the hardware is recognized.
