I really thought that DECnet Phase IV could run over Ethernet.

Maybe I'm wrong.

According to Wikipedia (take that with a grain of salt), DECnet Phase IV 
"…datalink capabilities expanded beyond DDCMP to include Ethernet local 
area network support as the datalink of choice…"
