You are not wrong. Ethernet was a day one feature of DECnet Phase IV
as proven by the AA-N149A-TC manual I referenced in the other post
which has a date of May 1982. (I've just checked the date while writing
this response.)
There were apparently some enhancements to DECnet Phase IV which
Stephen calls DECnet Phase IV+ and which apparently never made it
into any printed specifications. Stephen seems to be confusing those
changes with when Ethernet support was introduced into DECnet.
