HPE is exiting the OpenVMS business, with new-patch support ending in
less than two years. I'd expect the HPE investments to taper over
time, too.

For not the first time I have stated this in this thread, the current
VSI CSWS Apache Web Server version is V2.4-38. If what is posted on
the VSI web site doesn't indicate that, what is posted is stale.

Then keep records, and expect to toss the whole discussion back at your
management, as part of transitioning from HPE support to VSI support;
positioned as a one-time on-boarding fee or transition fee or whatever.
 It'd be nice if the licensing could be buried in the support costs,
but that's not currently the case. The current VSI web site and the
VSI communications and the lack of a list price price list aren't
particularly helpful here, either.

I'm familiar with organizations that use "bungee bosses", and with the
energy and the effort entailed with bringing each new boss up to speed,
and with the organizational knock-off effects when a mix of good boss
and bad bosses transition through an organization, and how those
managers pick good and bad managers and staff. This managerial churn
can be quite challenging. Both for the staff, and for the up-or-out
policies that the managers themselves are generally measured by.
