Actually, I don't know if it was a one-off, but HPE actually released
the DCL vulnerability patch for Alpha in addition to VSI:

And yes, I was also surprised HPE did that. If someone paid HPE for
the patch (I'm assuming any HPE Alpha VMS support contracts have long
expired), I wonder why they didn't just take out an Alpha support
contract with VSI instead ?

I wonder if it's because whatever site(s) asked HPE to do that didn't
want to migrate from HPE Alpha VMS to VSI Alpha VMS for some reason ?
