Ok, playing devil's advocate here, just warning ....
Is it impossible for some LLVM contributor to include something that
might be copyrighted by another? I doubt anything such is impossible.
So, from an extreme perspective, there could be something in LLVM, which
could have adverse repercussions on any who use it.
People reviewing anything cannot detect anything they are not aware of.
Same with lawyers (con men).
Seems to me, there might be a tendency here to have different standards
of trust, when truthfully, this is prejudice. I can see no difference
in unknown material being possible anywhere.
So, why would you say yes to one, and no to another? Wishful thinking
doesn't count.
If one is going to be paranoid, they should at least do a good job of it.
I seem to recall some years back, seeing code in Microsoft's TCP/IP that
appeared to be directly from BSD Unix, if my memory is correct.
