Yeah I see no point in maintaing a current Perl version with VAX support. But it's sad that the last version still supporting VAX don't even build. Maybe a patch would be of value for some people, like VMS hobbyist.

As a hobbyist who wan't some practical usage of my VMS system, a webserver like WASD with Perl 5 CGI support would enable some basic web development and web hosting on the system.

Are you the maintainer of the Perl VMS support? I'm struggling with trying to understand what is ment by this (from the thread above that explains how to make 5.22 build on VAX):

"The MAKEFILE.PL in the [.EXT.DYNALOADER] needs to be updated to add \$(NOECHO) \$(NOOP) as an action aver the static :: $object line."
