I think it will get easier with VMS x86-64.

I would think they need 3 major platform specific pieces:
A) basic C RTL functions
B) GUI library
C) JIT compiler

VMS got #A.

You can probably live without #B.

And the move from Itanium to x86-64 should make #C a lot
easier as x85-64 is already supported.
