Heh...  actually what the hell?  99.9% won't work but its a parts disk now anyway.  I can see if I can make a very clean desktop and shroud, I don't need to move the heads or remove the disks which is supposedly the truly fiddly bit.

However the 2620 is still misbehaving in new ways.  The iLO just went offline, though the server stayed up.  The MAC and assigned IP disappeared from the network.  Disconnect/Reconnecting the iLO cable made no difference.  I ended up having to power cycle the server to get the iLO back.

The box is definitely being skittish.  I'm wondering now if we had a power event bad enough to get through the UPS; we lost our DS10, one Proliant started acting up a few days later, then the 2620 lost its system disk (and possibly DVD, still working on that) and had the CMOS apparently corrupted which hung startups until we got a new battery.
