I use xterm on Linux and ssh from its command line to VMS. I find that I
can do most everything I need to do save for the stupid laptop alternate
keypad missing a key which was easily overcome with an xmodmap definition.
When I really need VT-type display features, I issue $ CREATE/TERMINAL.
