Assume an X86 system disk on a SAN that is also accessed by Alpha and IA64 systems.

If that SAN disk is backed up and restored to another SAN disk from an Alpha or 
IA64 system that does not have this fix, then the resulting X86 system disk will 
not boot.

This issue has been fixed; that's the point of the support notice.
