You can migrate drives between SA5300 and SA6400 controllers without having to re-initialize them. If you have some SCSI disks on a SA6400 and the controller goes bad you can easily just replace the controller and it will see the RAID metadata on the drives and use them as the old one did. I've done that.

Check some messages here from Rod Regier. He's done some experimenting on this. There is also some evidence that you can migrate JBOD drives from an LSISAS106B to HP SA P400, but not RAID sets. One person reports migrating RAID sets from a P400 to a P800 which would mean that P410/411 should also migrate. If that's the case possibly even a P600 should work as HP advertises "Data compatibility with past and future generations of Serial Smart Array controllers" and "Seamless upgrades from past generations and upgrades to next generation HPE high performance and high capacity Serial Attached SCSI Smart Array controllers."

Naturally you cannot migrate from a SA5300/6400 to a P400/P600/P800 as they use different disks.
