And also, from the initial post in this thread:

So, what are these "issues". This is an emulated environment with
disk beeing a vdisk on (my guess) way faster disk hardware (SSD?)
then was available in the VAX hardware area.

Or are the issues more like "header/index full" or similar disk
structure related issues?

So why is fragmentation pointed out as the root cause?
