Horses for courses
If your wanting a more polished professional announcement, then LinkedIn. YouTube for reaching more people than LinkedIn
Faceidiot is is for the 25+ age group. I personally can't stand the platform but it is the incumbent with the most number of accounts. It's the shotgun approach. Personal disclosure, I don't use the platform, never have, never will, can't stand the censorship
Under 25's won't have a bar of faceidiot and they would rather things like Snapchat, discourse, Reddit and increasingly Parler is growing as an alternative to Twitter that's killing itself through political wokeness
Who are you wanting to target is really the question.
Older VMS folks, then faceidiot because that fits their demographic better and LinkedIn also for a more business professional tone. YouTube would be my pick here though
YouTube is second only to faceidiot and reaches more people than LinkedIn and would be on my list for mass distribution of information
Facebook
YouTube
LinkedIn
Twitter
Reddit
Parler*
Bitchute*
*Growing alternatives that escape the biased censorship that's increasingly killing the incumbents
Then the likes of the specific ones that older VMS folks frequent, like Google groups and then the VSI website of course
Horses for courses
I think VMS is so small in its recovery phase that it would be a waste of resources to try and cover all the major social media platforms, the information will spread quick enough through word of mouth anyhow
LinkedIn VSI software, 836 followers
VSI YouTube, 295 subscribers
But this doesn't quite tell the same story. LinkedIn for VSI was set up a long time back and YouTube not so.
Interesting to see that 1.2k people watched the YouTube rollout video on YouTube, far more than anything LinkedIn has served up for VMS announcements.
Based on this, I'd be sticking with YouTube official VSI channel for now (but I don't have faceidiot data since I am not in the platform)
