very high odds the site _can_ support a power cycle, just don't want to risk it without proper response to a failure being available. They have spare drives, power supply, blower fan, enclosure, and I/O card but no spare EMU. Still requires scheduling in a very busy environment. Thank you for the confirmation on a POST being needed. I will let them know.
The shelf is a 4300 series unit, but the only docs I can find online/accessible are 4200 series. I expect that the status light operation on the EMU and I/O cards is the same but I'm not certain. The dual port I/O card on a 4200 should have the two terminator lights on solid when in operation per that guide. The lights on this unit are flashing, more like data/activity indicators. The 4200 guide shows NO situation where they should be flashing. But perhaps that is correct on a 4300...
The HP support area for the doc I need is not accessible to me, or to the customer using their support login (the system is still under hardware and software support); they are trying to get HPE to provide.

I'm sure I filed a hardcopy of the 4300 user guide several years ago but we're still locked out of the office, working from home, and the person who is there can't find it.
The 4200 user guide says the EMU is hot swappable. We discussed pulling and reseating it but they wanted to see if we could locate a spare EMU first.
I'll ask again about the SMH page; we don't manage this system and I don't have direct access to it at this time.
