Motivations:
1) all that can be said to users about consistency in modern security 
management with VMS is important now, for example to speak about being 
up to date with SSL (just 1 example),
2) to hire new guys on VMS, it is important they could understand how 
VMS is able to integrate development methods and deontology with Open 
Source projects.
