True, but they are used on Linux.
On Linux, init scripts are startup scripts. Even the init scripts
architecture is still a _LOT_ cleaner than what exists in VMS.

I am not using Windows as an example of how things should be done but
as an example of how even Windows has update and package management
functionality that VMS is missing.
