Two problems here.

1. Many of the Farenheit-bashers are Americans.  I certainly am; as an American
   I think we have had real economic losses as a result of sticking with the
   old system as it makes it much harder to sell American products abroad.

2. It was a bunch of Germans who took Americans to the moon, if you recall.
   Admittedly it was Americans who had the foresight to get them out of there.
   I'll say also that I worked with a couple of the Operation Paperclip guys
   and they said moving to American units was painful for them (horsepower
   being the absolute worst).
