Nigel,

the 'MOP Remote Console Multicast' message you've posted seems to be the periodic SYSID MOP multicast message, which DEC systems send out on the local ethernet. The source address is the DECnet MAC address of your Alpha (1.18).

If you try to boot your simh MicroVAX, look for messages in LAN$ACP.LOG on your Alpha or use LANCP SHOW LOG

LANCP SHOW DLL will also show MOP load counters.

LANCP SET ACP/ECHO/FULL will enable MOP tracing on the Alpha (into SYS$MANAGER:LAN$node-name.LOG)
