The hack-around is security alarms and reading piles of data from an 
auditing mailbox, or maybe using system service interception.

and also see the macOS fs_usage tool at the command line.

It'll be prolly more effective and more expedient to update the user 
code to manage its version spewage. This per the classic programming 
maxim of "If it hurts, don't do that."
