Minor correction to my original reply - " black Tues" crash should have
stated " black Mon" (crash of 1987).
Re: when did Cisco become a networking company?

(kind of grey area between Stanford and Cisco, but early innovations were
focussed on networking, so even though not a company until 1990, not sure
what might have been informally happening behind the scenes at DEC in 1987)
