The reason why I compare DECnet to today's standards instead of those
of 30 years ago is because there are people here in 2021 who are deluded
enough to think that DECnet is somehow comparable to the networking
stacks of today, both in functionality and security.
That's why DECnet gets compared by me to those same stacks of today
(and is promptly found by me to be massively lacking compared to
modern networking stacks).
