It's a good bet.

The battery-backed-era RAID controllers get recalcitrant when the cache 
batteries are low, and yet more recalcitrant when the batteries are 
dead.

And various of the battery-backed-era RAID controllers deplete and 
irrevocably damage their batteries, if the systems are not kept booted.

Fix/replace/repair/charge the battery first, and see how many of the 
other issues also resolve.
