For folks here, the question is probably whether it will run VMS.  IIRC, 
only the "au" (advantage upgrade) PWS would run VMS.

Or is it not a PWS but rather some other sytem.

I've been using PWS for a long time and they are very dependable.  If 
the battery goes then once the power is off they forget that they are 
supposed to run VMS, but that is easy to fix at the console (or one 
makes sure that the battery is always fresh, though presumably changing 
it would also require a reset to VMS, but during planned downtime).

If it is a PWS, and perhaps if it is some other Alpha which runs VMS, I 
might be able to pick it up, depending on where in the UK you are.  
However, due to the corona-related travel restriction, I don't know 
whether I'll be in England in August as planned.

What CPU?  How much memory?  Any disk drives in it?  Any other drives?  
What cards are in it (ethernet presumably; what about video and SCSI 
(and if SCSI, what sort of SCSI).  Any other peripherals?
