Such people are normally called "thieves", unless they are politicians. 
Then it's just "business as usual".

Unfortunately, the situation is much worse than what has been discussed 
here.

People who ignore precautions (no masks, no distancing).
People who won't accept a vaccination.
Idiots who just aren't going to miss their "spring break".
Young who think only old people die.

My long term belief that human intelligence is a myth is gathering 
additional evidence.

It's been what, 100 years or so since humans faced this type of thing. 
Sort of natural to think it's a thing of the past.  (So is the asteroid 
strike that took out the dinosaurs, but, there are more asteroids.) 
There are potentially more nasty virus.

I've adopted the attitude that those who are being stupid are just going 
to have to live (or not) with the consequences.  I don't like that 
attitude, but, some people cannot be reasoned with.  It just might raise 
the average IQ on the planet.

Just wait for the court cases, because some won't accept vaccination, 
and airline travel might require vaccinations.  Gonna be interesting.
