Yes, Three Mile Island, where there was a substantial core meltdown. It
was contained however and monitoring since shows no increase in
cancers or fatalities in the years since. Fukushima was an old design,
not built to modern standards, with the backup pumps below sea level.
All in all, nuclear has a pretty good record, but you won't hear
anything about that from the green brigade...
