Let's get to the basic to find where the problem is and then decide if we require a firmware update or not, If you have already carved a lun on the MSA and the the server is attached to the fabric
1. Check to see if zone is properly configured. confirm wwn of the msa and the wwn of the server in the zone config.
2. Zoneset should see the zone and is in the active zoneset
3. Do a flogi to see if the server has logged in the san switch (show flogi will tell you for msa & server). (If flogi does not show the wwn, go step back)
4. Considering if all this is good, bring the server up and in the console check to see if you are able to see the lun by using the fc utility (If you don't see the lun here then no point booting the server).
iLO will also tell you if you are able to see the connection to the MSA
