I haven't seen the use of "-f" for the input file before but I tried it
on a pdf and it worked but my pdf only had text, not a barcode. I have
seen some "creative" methods in using fonts in both ps and pdf before.
Does the command work for you if the pdf has only normal text using a
simple font like Helvetica?
