Fashion. 

Being "VP of Sales" is dreadfully 1980s. New job titles give things an
air of being up-to-date. A lot of "Business Decision Makers" have no way
to chose between options on technical or financial grounds, and can be
influenced by a thin tissue of new business jargon.
