David also has a problem in that he has his own in-house database
written in Macro-32.

If he had decided to instead run his applications under an Alpha emulator,
he still has the problem of responding to external factors such as new
variants of communications protocols and other issues such as handling new
security vulnerabilities (that latter one would be important as far as
auditors are concerned).
