I really don't know where that is coming from. While not my favorite, I find
working with RMS files to be reasonable. Perhaps we have different definitions
of reasonable.

Now you're talking about something like my database product, and you are
correct, much better to have record definitions as part of the data store.
Regardless, the tech has gotten better, and that's how it should be.
