Do hypervisors provide a synchronous interface to a guest?
Even if they did, I suspect that we don't provide a synch driver.
I'm pretty sure that IA64 did support a synchronous interface,
and I'm even more sure that we never even discussed supporting
one on X86_64.
I am aware that DECnet will run over an asynch serial line (NODRIVER).
