[Squaredancing] Christmas In July and the Jewish Faith?

What is the purpose of this Christmas in July dance? Is it to beat the
heat, have memories of cold time in the winter? Then have a beat the
heat dance with a snow theme, etc.

Or is the purpose to have something to do with presents? Maybe white
elephant exchange? Then have a white elephant dance.

Or is the purpose to have to do with gift giving as in gifts to charity?
Then have a share the bounty idea, maybe themed with summer crops
flourishing and harvest to come.

Does the purpose have anything to do with any religion at all? If not,
then get all words with any religious significance out of the plan
entirely. I know, I know that secular christmas is a part of the U.S.
culture, but it is not part of the culture of everyone who lives in the
U.S. Unless you truly mean your dance to have something to do with
religion, totally eradicate any words with religious significance for
anybody.

That's my suggestion.

I do not know much about the Jewish faith, but my Community Dance Group
in Key West, FL meets in a Synagogue.

Does anyone see a problem in having a Christmas In July theme at my next

dance next week?

All of my music is generic, such as Jingle Bells, Santa Clause themes,
Winter Wonderland, I'll be home for Christmas., Up on the House Top,
etc.
