[Squaredancing] Visualizing NSDC Registration Numbers

Hi,

Most of us have seen the registration numbers for the next 3 National 
Square Dance Conventions that are displayed on the convention's web 
pages. They are listed in a nice table. I thought that it would be 
interesting if these numbers could be shown on a map. With the help 
of the GeoMap Google Visualization API 
<http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/geomap.html>, 
some PHP to screen scrape the pages to get the numbers, and quite a 
bit of Javascript (using the jQuery library <http://www.jquery.com/> 
to do the AJAX work), I came up with <http://www.rbnsn.com/nsdc/geo_reg.php>.

The initial page shows the whole world. Clicking on the US will zoom 
in and the registration numbers by state will appear.

By clicking the appropriate buttons, you can see the numbers for the 
58th, 59th, and 60th conventions. You can also eliminate the "home 
state's" numbers.

I've tested this page on Firefox3, MSIE7, and Chrome.  It should work 
on most modern browsers that support Javascript.
