I'm afraid my experience is a bit dated here. I encountered problems
several years ago trying to download Windows updates for a colleague who
was still on dial up, and I had to get him to provide me with a URL, so
there may be something in what you say. (I'm managing quite well
operating a Windows free zone here BTW.)
