I've been following the UBS thing with interest. Apparently
offences were committed on US soil (by US citizens) so they do
actually fall under US jurisdiction.
I was surprised by a recent article about how many US employees UBS has.
I can't find that link now, but according to the following one:
"The job cuts represent 2.5 percent of the 7,939 financial advisers UBS
had in the United States at the end of June"
2300973.html>
and on Page 2:
"UBS increased its presence in the United States in 2000 with the $10
billion acquisition of PaineWebber Group, a brokerage firm with over
8,500 brokers and $500 billion in client assets."
