Quite by accident, we work with several companies that seem to be more
interested in developing a healthy business than making a quick buck.
All these companies are privately owned so have no stock market
presence (including the related blue-sky propaganda machine). Another
thing, many of the companies have been in the telecommunications
business for more than 25 years (i.e. long term commitment).

But some big projects (the original Apollo Moon Missions, a new Bell
Labs, etc.) need to be done by a public-private partnership.
