Ok. _That_ is the kind of problem which a patch (ACRTL?)
could fix. If you can find a Zip executable which was built
on an older VMS version, then you might be able to get that to
work. This seems to offer some pretty old stuff:
ftp://ftp.process.com/vms-freeware/fileserv/zip.zip
It has a "zip30/vms-binaries/vax542_vaxc/" directory, and that
should be obsolete enough for almost anyone. You may need to
transport the .OBJ/.OLB stuff, and link it on the target
system.
If you get desperate and need a pre-linked executable, I
could probably fire up a V5.5-2 system, and make something
obsolete there.
